Institute of Humanistic Studies

The Istituto di Studi Umanistici (ISU) of the Università di Firenze is one of the Schools through which the Istituto Italiano di Scienze Umane (SUM) carries out its activity of advanced training and promotion of research.

The ISU:

• organises Higher Education activities, in the form of Research Doctorate Programmes offering several scholarships and hospitality for students in Florence. The Course Programmes include a large number of seminars of a markedly inter-disciplinary nature, held by some of the most highly qualified scholars in the international field.
  
  
• fosters research, by guiding and financing the study activities of its students by means of a network of international institutions, organising conferences and occasions for study, and developing editorial projects.
